OP1

OP1 (Orange Pekoe 1) tea has a long, well twisted and wiry leaf structure. This grade of tea is usually well sought out for its pleasant aroma, amber colored cup and mellow profile, with notes of malt.

FBOP Extra Special

FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) Extra Special teas are characteristically smaller in leaf size while being slightly wiry and twisted. These teas are renowned for their abundance of leafy, long, golden colored “tips”. Expect an exquisite and refined cup with notes of caramel.

FBOP

FBOP (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe) teas have a smaller, wiry and more compact leaf structure. This coarse, semi-leafy tea produces a mellow, flavorful cup with very little astringency. Expect a slightly darker cup compared to its leafier counterparts.

FBOPF1

FBOPF1 (Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings 1) teas consist of short, wiry leaves mixed with medium sized, slightly curled, hard leaves. This type of tea may occasionally contain a percentage of small sized tips. Expect a darker cup with a strong, full bodied character in its flavor profile.

OPA

OPA (Orange Pekoe A) teas are usually the longest and leafiest in structure. Bold and sometimes slightly twisted this leaf produces a cup that is much lighter in color and milder with subtle floral hints across the palate.

BOP1

BOP1 (Broken Orange Pekoe 1) teas are known for their wiry and well twisted structure. These teas are popularly found in lower elevations and produce an exquisitely delicate cup with notes of malt and caramel gracing the palate.

Pekoe

Pekoe teas have a distinct spherical, rolled leaf structure. These teas require great care in the manufacturing process to ensure the young leaf is rolled into its iconic shape. Expect a light bodied tea with equal notes of sweetness and astringency and a brighter cup.

Pekoe1

Very similar to ‘Pekoe tea’, Pekoe 1 teas maintain a similar spherical, rolled leaf structure but are significantly smaller and more compact when compared to other ‘Pekoe’ style teas. Almost resembling peppercorns, this well sought after tea brings a slightly darker brew and more body to its flavor profile with balanced sweetness and astringency.

Green Tea Fannings

Green tea fannings are a flaky, small and flat leaf style that is popularly found in tea bags and flavored green teas. Ceylon green tea is slightly darker and stronger than its Chinese counterpart. Expect a strong, fresh aroma and nutty flavor with a moderate level of astringency.

Green Tea Pekoe

Green tea pekoes were popularly referred to as ‘Gunpowder’ tea due to its rolled characteristic resembling the ammunition used by muskets in the past. This tea presents a pale yellow cup with a distinctly fresh aroma and moderate to low levels of astringency.
